नाशिक : नाशिक महापालिकेच्या सिडको प्रभाग समितीच्या सभेत नगरसेवकांमध्ये झालेल्या वाद आणि शिवीगाळीच्या घटनेचे पडसाद गुरुवारी झालेल्या महासभेत उमटले. या पार्श्वभूमीवर महापौर हिमगौरी आडके-आहेर यांनी सभागृहात महत्त्वाचा निर्णय जाहीर करत भविष्यातील अशा घटनांवर कठोर कारवाईचा इशारा दिला.
महापौरांनी सांगितले की, सिडको प्रभाग समितीत घडलेला प्रकार अत्यंत दुर्दैवी असून त्यामुळे महापालिकेची तसेच लोकप्रतिनिधींची प्रतिमा मलीन झाली आहे. या घटनेची समाजमाध्यमांवर मोठ्या प्रमाणावर चर्चा झाली असून नागरिकांमध्येही तीव्र नाराजी व्यक्त करण्यात आली.
यापुढे महापालिकेच्या महासभा किंवा इतर अधिकृत बैठकीत कोणत्याही नगरसेवकाने असभ्य भाषा वापरली, शिवीगाळ केली, गोंधळ घातला किंवा शिस्तभंग केला तर संबंधित नगरसेवकाला सहा महिन्यांसाठी महासभेतून निलंबित करण्याचा निर्णय महासभा सुमोटो पद्धतीने घेईल, असे महापौरांनी स्पष्ट केले.
सभागृहाची शिस्त, लोकप्रतिनिधींचा सन्मान आणि महापालिकेची प्रतिमा जपण्यासाठी हा निर्णय घेण्यात आल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले. काही नगरसेवकांकडून सातत्याने नियम व शिष्टाचाराचे उल्लंघन होत असल्याने आता कठोर भूमिका घेण्याची वेळ आली असल्याचेही त्यांनी नमूद केले.
महासभेतील अनेक नगरसेवकांनी, विशेषतः महिला नगरसेवकांनी, या निर्णयाचे स्वागत केले. सभागृहातील शिस्त अबाधित ठेवण्यासाठी आणि असभ्य वर्तनाला आळा घालण्यासाठी हा निर्णय महत्त्वपूर्ण ठरेल, अशी प्रतिक्रिया व्यक्त करण्यात आली.
महापौर हिमगौरी आडके-आहेर यांनी घेतलेला हा निर्णय राज्यातील स्थानिक स्वराज्य संस्थांसाठी आदर्श ठरण्याची शक्यता व्यक्त केली जात असून, सभागृहातील शिस्तीसंदर्भात नवा मापदंड निर्माण करणारा निर्णय म्हणून याकडे पाहिले जात आहे.

Nashik : The recent verbal clash and abusive language exchanged between corporators during a CIDCO Ward Committee meeting echoed in Thursday’s General Body meeting of the Nashik Municipal Corporation. In response to the controversy, Mayor Himgauri Aadke-Aher announced a major disciplinary decision aimed at maintaining decorum in civic meetings.
The Mayor stated that the incident had tarnished the image of both the Municipal Corporation and its elected representatives. The matter also drew widespread criticism on social media, with many citizens expressing disappointment over the conduct displayed during the meeting.
To prevent such incidents in the future, the Mayor announced that any corporator found using abusive language, creating disorder, or violating the dignity of the General Body or any official civic meeting may face suspension from the General Body proceedings for six months, with the action to be taken suo motu by the House.
She emphasized that the decision has been taken to uphold discipline, protect the dignity of elected representatives, and preserve the credibility of the Nashik Municipal Corporation. She further noted that repeated violations of rules and decorum by certain members have made strict disciplinary action necessary.
Several corporators, especially women members, welcomed the decision and described it as a significant step towards ensuring discipline and respectful conduct within the House.
The Mayor’s decision is expected to send a strong message across Maharashtra and may serve as a model for other local self-government bodies in promoting discipline and responsible democratic functioning.
