नाशिक हे शहर आजवर धार्मिक, पर्यटन आणि द्राक्ष उत्पादनासाठी ओळखले जात होते. मात्र, आता नाशिकच्या ओळखीला नवे औद्योगिक आणि लॉजिस्टिक्स परिमाण मिळण्याची चिन्हे स्पष्ट दिसू लागली आहेत. नाशिक-सोलापूर-अक्कलकोट ३७४ किलोमीटर लांबीच्या ६ लेन ग्रीनफिल्ड अॅक्सेस कंट्रोल्ड कॉरिडॉरला केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळाची मंजुरी मिळाल्याने नाशिकच्या विकास प्रवासाला नवे वळण मिळाले आहे. पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली झालेल्या बैठकीत मंजूर झालेला हा प्रकल्प सुमारे १९,१४२ कोटी रुपये खर्चाचा असून तो बीओटी (टोल) मॉडेलवर उभारला जाणार आहे. विशेष म्हणजे या महामार्गासाठी महाराष्ट्र शासनावर थेट आर्थिक भार पडणार नाही. साधारण दोन वर्षांत हा प्रकल्प पूर्ण करण्याचे उद्दिष्ट ठेवण्यात आले आहे. हा महामार्ग दिल्ली-मुंबई एक्स्प्रेस-वे, समृद्धी महामार्ग आणि आग्रा-मुंबई राष्ट्रीय महामार्गाशी जोडला जाणार आहे. यामुळे नाशिकचा थेट संपर्क पश्चिम व दक्षिण भारतातील प्रमुख औद्योगिक केंद्रे, बंदरे आणि बाजारपेठांशी प्रस्थापित होईल. विशेषतः वाढवण पोर्टशी होणारे कनेक्शन नाशिकमधील निर्यातक्षम उद्योगांसाठी मोठी संधी ठरणार आहे.

या कॉरिडॉरमुळे सध्याच्या मार्गांच्या तुलनेत प्रवासाचे अंतर सुमारे २०१ किमीने कमी होईल आणि सुमारे १७ तासांचा वेळ वाचेल. यामुळे इंधन खर्चात बचत, वाहतूक सुलभता आणि उद्योगांचा लॉजिस्टिक खर्च कमी होण्यास मदत होणार आहे. जवळपास ४५ टक्के वेळेची बचत झाल्याने नाशिकमधील उद्योग अधिक स्पर्धात्मक ठरतील.

१०० किमी प्रतितास डिझाइन स्पीड आणि १२० किमी प्रतितास क्षमतेनुसार विकसित करण्यात येणारा हा अॅक्सेस कंट्रोल्ड महामार्ग अपघातांचे प्रमाण कमी करण्यास मदत करेल. शेतमाल, औद्योगिक मालवाहतूक आणि प्रवासी वाहतूक अधिक सुरक्षित व वेगवान होणार आहे. (Nashik Logistics And Industrial Hub)

नाशिक जिल्हा द्राक्ष, कांदा, भाजीपाला आणि अन्नप्रक्रिया उद्योगासाठी प्रसिद्ध आहे. मात्र, वेळेवर बाजारपेठांपर्यंत पोहोचण्यातील अडथळ्यांमुळे शेतकऱ्यांना अनेकदा नुकसान सहन करावे लागत होते. नव्या महामार्गामुळे नाशिकचा शेतमाल थेट दक्षिण भारतातील मोठ्या बाजारपेठांमध्ये कमी वेळेत पोहोचू शकेल. त्यामुळे कोल्ड स्टोरेज, वेअरहाउसिंग आणि अॅग्रो लॉजिस्टिक्स क्षेत्रात गुंतवणूक वाढण्याची शक्यता आहे.

या प्रकल्पामुळे हजारो थेट आणि अप्रत्यक्ष रोजगाराच्या संधी उपलब्ध होतील. बांधकाम काळात स्थानिकांना रोजगार मिळेल, तर पुढील टप्प्यात हॉटेल्स, ट्रान्सपोर्ट सेवा, लॉजिस्टिक्स पार्क, पेट्रोल-सीएनजी पंप आणि इलेक्ट्रिक चार्जिंग स्टेशन यांसारख्या सेवा उद्योगांचा विस्तार होईल. नाशिक, अहिल्यानगर, धाराशिव आणि सोलापूर परिसरातील ग्रामीण अर्थव्यवस्थेला याचा मोठा फायदा होणार आहे. एकूणच, नाशिक-सोलापूर-अक्कलकोट ६ लेन महामार्ग हा केवळ रस्ते प्रकल्प नसून नाशिकच्या दीर्घकालीन, संतुलित आणि शाश्वत विकासाची पायाभरणी करणारा प्रकल्प ठरणार आहे. भविष्यात नाशिक हे पश्चिम व दक्षिण भारताला जोडणारे एक महत्त्वाचे लॉजिस्टिक्स हब म्हणून उदयास येईल, असा विश्वास व्यक्त केला जात आहे.

Nashik, long known for its religious significance, tourism, and grape production, is now poised to gain a new identity as a major logistics and industrial hub. The approval of the 374-kilometre Nashik–Solapur–Akkalkot six-lane greenfield access-controlled corridor marks a turning point in the city’s development journey.

Approved by the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the project involves an investment of approximately ₹19,142 crore and will be implemented under the BOT (Toll) model. Notably, the Maharashtra government will not bear any direct financial burden. The project is expected to be completed within two years.

The corridor will connect Nashik with the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, the Samruddhi Mahamarg, and the Agra–Mumbai National Highway. This enhanced connectivity will link Nashik directly with major industrial clusters, ports, and markets across western and southern India. The linkage with the upcoming Vadhavan Port is expected to significantly boost export-oriented industries in the region.

Once operational, the corridor will reduce travel distance by around 201 kilometres and save nearly 17 hours of travel time. This reduction will translate into lower logistics costs, fuel savings, and faster movement of goods, making Nashik-based industries more competitive.

Designed for high-speed and controlled access, the highway will improve road safety and ensure smoother traffic flow. Agricultural produce, industrial goods, and passenger transport will benefit from faster and safer connectivity.

Nashik’s agricultural economy, particularly grapes, onions, vegetables, and food processing, is also expected to gain momentum. Improved access to southern Indian markets will encourage investments in cold-chain logistics, warehousing, and agro-processing facilities.

The project will generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities. From construction jobs to long-term growth in logistics parks, transport services, hotels, fuel stations, and EV charging infrastructure, the economic impact will extend across the Nashik–Ahilyanagar–Solapur belt.

Land acquisition for the project is nearly complete, with over 80 per cent of the required land already in possession. Environmental sustainability measures such as tree plantation, rainwater harvesting, wildlife crossings, and modern drainage systems have been integrated into the project design.

Overall, the Nashik–Solapur–Akkalkot corridor is not just a highway but a strategic infrastructure initiative that will redefine Nashik’s economic landscape and position it as a key logistics hub in Maharashtra.
